Internet Crimes

Technology has changed our lives in the last 20 years. Computers have become the primary source of news and information; they are in our homes, schools, hospitals, libraries, and business. The internet can be used for many aspects of daily life is has enhanced lives improved work productivity and is excellent research and learning tool for students of all ages.

With this new technology comes new types of crimes, and presents complex challenges for authorities. Criminals are using the Internet and other new technologies to prey on innocent victims. In some ways our greatest advancement in technology has also made life easier for predators with some many children on line.

We feel preventing Internet-based crimes against children should be a priority for service providers and law enforcement alike. As should improving the understanding and increasing the Support needed to assist child victims and there families.

Equally as important is educating parents and children on Internet safety and best practice advice to help avoid or identify earlier if something inappropriate is taking place. As standard all internet users should be aware or educated in how to report any inappropriate contact or content they may come across. By working together we can help decrease the number of victims and our laws improved to deal more affectively with any online perpetrator or predator.

This part of our website covers the two main online crimes affecting our children, online grooming and child pornography this are disturbing issues, caution with the later subject in particular is advised as the content can be upsetting.

If you are affected by any of these issues and feel you need to talk with someone you will find a list of contact details here.

We provide a service parents hope they will never need. Now we need your help to go further. Please Donate
